Word Tonic mentors are basically the Jedi Council of our community. Our engagement mentors hang out in the chit-chat channel, prompting people to get to know each other, helping newbies find their feet, and making sure no question goes unanswered. Our Feedback Mentors live in the copy-feedback channel, giving thoughtful, honest feedback that helps members improve their writing.
By becoming a mentor, you can help shape Word Tonic by giving feedback and suggestions on how to improve the community, requesting people you want to see for masterclasses and challenges, and joining monthly meetings where you get to have a say in changes we make.

What types of mentors are we looking for?
Engagement mentor
Engagement mentors will live in the chit-chat channel and are responsible for the overall vibes of the server.

YOUR COMMITMENT;
​
- Write two prompts a week in the #chit-chat channel that gets members talking + making friends
​
- Reach out to 1 member once a week via a private DM and strike up a conversation

💥 you can pop that you're a 'word tonic community mentor' on your CV - this is a great role to show employers/clients that you're giving back to the community and also shows off your public speaking skills, and ability to manage and coordinate

💥 after being a community mentor for 6 months consistently, Word Tonic will write you a reference

💥 you get added to a private Whatsapp group with other ambassadors from word tonic all over the world

💥 you get invited to a once-a-month mentor meeting where you'll get to share new ideas for word tonic and really play a role in how things evolve here; your voice will be heard and listened to first

💥 on these once a month meetings, we'll also give you training on different topics- mini live courses to teach you new skills that will help you as mentors but also make you look good outside the community (training on stuff like 'how to give feedback,' and ''how to pitch new ideas,' and 'public speaking,' and 'how to handle rejection' that can be added to your cv. these trainings can switch every month, so one month they can be more broad like 'public speaking' and the next month they can be super copywriting focused to help you in your careers outside the community. but also - even the broader trainings on things like public speaking and pitching new ideas are all things that can help you in your copywriting career/get a job as they demonstrate leadership skills
